Welcome to Arrow Rock, Missouri, and Borgman’s Bed and Breakfast

In the spring of 1982, my mom, Helen Borgman, and I opened Arrow Rock’s first bed and breakfast. I always said I had the idea, but it was my mom who had the skills. The quilts, rag rugs and paintings are her handiwork. Helen’s cinnamon rolls soon gained a reputation.

"Comfortable and homey,” became the words that described a stay with the Borgmans, is still my highest sought compliment. My mom died in the winter of 2004, but her legacy lives.

I rent four spacious, cheery rooms. Sorry, no private baths, but there are three full shared baths with shower. You will find double-size beds and comfortable rockers in each room.  In the “sitting room” you may choose a game or puzzle, browse a book or sit a spell. The swing on the porch is good for that, too. In the morning you will enjoy a family-style breakfast of eggs, bacon and, yes, cinnamon rolls.

RATES: $60-$65 double occupancy. Reservations requested. Guests without reservations are also welcome. Sorry, no credit cards. I do accept personal checks. I also request no smoking and no pets. There is a cat in residence.

I hope you will enjoy your visit to Arrow Rock as much as I enjoy living here.

Arrow Rock is a National Historic Landmark associated with westward expansion especially via the Missouri River and the Santa Fe Trail.  The home of artist George Caleb Bingham is also a registered National Historic Landmark.

While you are in Arrow Rock, I invite you to enjoy the following (all within walking distance):
